Managers play an important role in organizations. Their decision-making plays an important role in improving the performance of human resource (Mirahmadi et al., 2014). When they utilize an ethical approach it encourages them to solve problems in the right way and right manner. Ethical approaches help to ensure that employee's rights are considered, that there are fair procedures being administered, and that there is equity throughout the organization. Ethical approaches help set the standard for our behaviors that help us decide how we should act. HR plays an important role in fostering the culture within the organization because they are often the ones that create the culture. They align the organization and employees with their desired culture and maintain accountability for upholding that culture throughout all the levels within the organization.

HR can partner with managers to act as a strategic partner that helps to support and drive the goals of the organization. This partnership better enables them to work with managers to set a goal of improving the decision-making performance of their department's team. HR and managers should involve their teams in the decision-making process because it can be beneficial for the organization. Teams are often able to execute more quickly, make better decisions, solve more problems that may be complex, and enhance creativity. HR and managers can partner up to help enhance and foster their team's capabilities. Problem solving and decision-making play an important role in strategy formation. They are both things that need to be taken into consideration when forming a strategy because they both help navigate us through a variety of different situations.

In a sense, we can say that ethics is all about making choices and providing reasons why we should make these choices. Managers play a major role in determining whether employees embrace a company’s values. If managers and top leaders don’t model ethical behavior or enforce rules in a fair manner, employees lose trust. Human resources are the practitioners in providing equitable and transparent policies, practices, and processes throughout the organization and in signaling what is acceptable or unacceptable behaviors and how to manage them.

Decision-making impacts all business processes. Unlike what was earlier believed, HR is truly a business partner now. Its decisions have a direct implication for all the businesses that the company operates. For example, there is a need for new skills that are coming up for an upcoming business project. HR will be responsible for creating the skills matrix which in turn will impact the big decision of whether to build it internally or buy it externally. These are key business decisions that are driven by the practitioners in Human Resource Management.
