Q2. Briefly, explain what the 1884's Berlin Conference had to do with the posterior ethnic conflicts in Africa
Berlin Conference of 1884 was held by the European nations primarily aimed to scramble Africa. The conference resulted in adverse effects such as the posterior ethnic conflicts. Culturally, the African experienced difficulties in adopting the systems of the democratic governments pursued by the Europeans (Kumar, 2016). Despite their lack of understanding of African culture and habits, the Europeans went ahead to civilize Africans which resulted to rivalry and division among the Africans. Various issues confused the Africans which resulted in more ethnic conflicts. The Europeans also divided African land without considering the racial and cultural boundaries which led to a series of tribal disputes.

The core role of physical geography in reshaping conflicts is the evaluation of ecosystems through the local living perceptions of the existing conditions and emphasizing on opportunities through the various branches of the regional economy. Through a purposeful regulation of multiple landforms functions and rational territorial organization; that is, the arrangement of areas based on purpose, use and protection, help in avoiding conflicts and crises that result from human activities
