Chapter 8, Problem 26

Use the data in the Excel file Job Satisfaction to find the best multiple regression model to predict the overall satisfaction as a function of the other variables. What managerial implications does your result have?

Overall Satisfaction = -0.0186 - 0.0247*Years + 0.6527*Ideas + 0.2189*Communication + 0.2807*Recognition + 0.5832*Training + 0.2033*Work Condition - 0.2208*Tools and Information + 0.3153*Work/Life Balance

The results in the above report suggest that the P-Values for each variable is significant if it is less than 0.05 (95% Confidence Interval) otherwise not. Here the condition is 50-50 few are having significant and others don't. But when we consider the whole model consideration the Regression Significance F value is significant. Hence the whole model is also significant with 89.6% accuracy.

Predict Job Satisfaction based upon these variable values (but only using the variables that are significant): Years: 10, Ideas: 3, Communication: 4, Recognition: 2, Training: 4, Work Conditions: 5, Tools and Information: 3, Work/Life Balance: 4. Please take note that step 9 has been found to be the most challenging and please use the discussion forum to solidify your understanding of this step.

Overall Satisfaction= -0.0186-0.0247*10 + 0.6525*3 + 0.2189*4 +0.2807*2 + 0.5832*4+ 0.2033*5 -0.2208*3 +0.3153*4

Overall Satisfaction= 9.0345
